Georgia License Plates
The first Georgia license plate was issued in 1910, the first 3 years were undated. In 1915 a porcelain plate was manufactured. The early plates of Georgia are very expensive and scarce, bringing prices of over 5 figures. In 1941 a peach decal was added in the middle of the tag, this was the first decal ever used in the United States. Some of the slogans used by Georgia were The Peach State, and Georgia On My Mind from the song popularized by Ray Charles and Willie Nelson. The state of GA issued mostly single tags during their history, with the exception of 1929 thru 1941 when pairs were manufactured. Georgia does have a year of manufacture or YOM law, but before buying for your antique car, check with the DMV to see if the plates qualify for YOM use. As a whole, license plates fron this state are fairly expensive.
