Virginia treasury bill 1.00 EF Criswell 17

Your Price: $40.00
Item Number: 41463D
Manufacturer: CSA - Confederacy Capital - Montgomery AL, Richmond VA
This Virginia treasury note grades extra fine and is dated July 21, 1862 which makes it Criswell number VA-17. This example is rare in that it has a full frame line, even though the margins aren't even all around. The backs of this type of confederate money are plain so I did not post a photograph, this back shows a couple slight fold marks and a couple very small pinholes but is otherwise in excellent condition. The Virginia treasury 1.00 notes featured Ceres in the center and Governor John Letcher on the left side. This confederate money was printed by Hoyer and Ludwig from Richmond Virginia.
