Virginia Confederate Money Winchester One Dollar Scrip Fine

Virginia confederate money from the corporation of Winchester that was issued on July 15, 1861. This obsolete civil war currency grades fine, with a lot of wear but no major faults. At the left is a vignette of a maiden with a sheaf of grain on her head, in the center is train scene and at the bottom center is a small vignette of a flower. Winchester is at the northern edge of the Shenandoah Valley which was known as the breadbasket of the Confederacy. Winchester is also home to the large Apple Blossom festival and was the scene of several Civil War battles and skirmishes.
