Type of Confederate Money - Two and a half dollar denomination currency issued by the Southwestern Bank of Virginia during the Civil War era.
Nickname or Vignettes - plain typeset note, with a bold blue 2.50 across the face of the bill
Date & Place of Issue - May 1, 1862 from Wytheville, Virginia
Serial Number & Plate Letter - 21 A
Condition - This note has the appearance of very good to fine, but the note has seperated in the middle and has been repaired. However, with a note this rare, it might be a long time before another one comes along. The bill still portrays a nice appearance.

Number Issued & Printers - Unknown how many were originally printed, however it is estimated that today only between 2 to 4 of these 2.50 Southwestern Bank notes still exist.
Type of Bank Paper Used - white, thicker bond type paper
Payable In - Southwestern Bank of Virginia will pay two dollars and fifty cents on demand to Edward Walker or bearer. Signed by both the cashier and by Hugh Spence for the president.
