Virginia Confederate Money City of Richmond Twenty Five Cents EF

Richmond, VA - City of Richmond 25 Cents dated April 15, 1862. Confederate States of America President Jefferson Davis placed the City of Richmond under martial law in 1862. These obsolete bills are from that period in time. Graded Extremely Fine. Though not exactly rare, these are nice examples of this type. This Civil War era bill reads "The City of Richmond will pay to bearer on demand, Twenty-Five Cents when presented in sums of one or more dollars. And this note is receivable for any dues to the City of Richmond. Authorized by Act of Assembly." More than one of these vintage bills are available, so what is shown in the picture may not be the one that is purchased, however all the examples of this Virginia confederate money will grade the same extra fine condition.
