Type of Confederate Money - A change note issued by the county of Augusta Virginia during the Civil War in the denomination of 25 cents.
Nickname or Vignettes - A small ship is located in the center of this confederate money.
Date & Place of Issue - Issued on May 25, 1862 from Staunton, Virginia. This area is in the Shendandoah Valley of Virginia which was the site of many Civil War Battles.
Serial Number & Plate Letter - Various, all are hand written, some in blue ink and some were printed in red ink.
Condition - This group of obsolete Virginia civil war currency will grade fine.
Back - The backs are plain
Criswell & Fricke Numbers - There are 2 different types of these Augusta county notes in this group. One group has a fancy scroll on the right end which has "receivable in payment of all county dues" and the other group has the same enclosed in a plain box. I will send which ever note comes up, unless you have a preference, if you do, you will have to email your preference. Both types are the same rarity.
