Type of Confederate Money - Fifty dollar treasury note from the commonwealth of Virginia issued during the earlier part of the Civil War.
Nickname or Vignettes - Governor James M. Mason is on the left and on the right are the allegorical figures of Prosperity seated with Commerce and Navigation.
Date & Place of Issue - October 15th, 1862 from Richmond Virginia
Serial Number & Plate Letter - This confederate money has a nice low serial number of 46. The plate letter is B.
Condition - Very Fine, there is a slight slit on the left side of the note along with darkening of the paper. The centering is excellent as is the color of the counterfeit protector, which is almost red in color.
Back - plain, showing the flaws mentioned that are on the front.
Criswell & Fricke Numbers - Criswell number CR-7.
Number Issued & Printers - Keatinge and Ball of Columbia South Carolina
