George Washington Confederate Money
George Washington Confederate Money
Richmond, Virginia $100 Treasury Note. Oct. 15, 1862 Attractive orange "C" counters are part of the appeal of this $100 bill. The central portrait is of Governor Letcher. Images of George Washington and an inidan maiden are also seen. Extremely Fine. Virginia treasury bills are highly collectible, one reason is probably the state of Virginia was at the center of the Civil War throughout most of that trying time in our history. This CSA currency says Richmond Virginia Treasury Note October 15th, 1862, Commonwealth of Virginia. Will pay on demand to bearer at the Treasury. Receivable in Payment of Taxes other Public Dues. The Faith of the Commonwealth is Pledged. The picture shows the actual confederate money that is for sale, in addition, even though plain, a photo of the back of this Virginia civil war currency can also be seen in the photograph gallery.
