Type 61 - Type 63 Confederate Money

These are the smaller denomination notes of the CSA 6th series of Confederate Money of which up to 15 million were authorized to print. These 3 bills were printed on pink paper, supposedly to help stop counterfeiting. Inflation was already getting out of hand in the old South at this stage of the Civil War, so in essence these 3 small notes were not worth very much money. The Type 61 is a two dollar Judah P. Benjamin bill, the one dollar is the type 62 and featured Clement C. Clay, a confederate senator for the state of Alabama. Type 63 was the first change note issued by the Confederacy and was a fifty cent denomination and had a bust of Jefferson Davis in the center. All of this confederate money was issued on April 6, 1863 from Richmond Virginia.
