Type 56 - Type 60 Confederate Money

This category includes the bigger denomination notes of the Confederate States of America 6th series of notes which were authorized by the Act of March 23, 1863. This act allowed the printing of up to 50 million worth of paper money per month, in all over 1/2 billion dollars worth of confederate money was printed of this sixth series. These are pretty much all common notes but are getting harder to find in the choice uncirculated conditions. The T-56 was another of the 100.00 Lucy Pickens bills, the 50.00 was the third of the Jefferson Davis fifty dollar notes. The twenty portrayed the state capital in Nashville Tennessee along with Alexander Stephens, the ten dollar Type 59 CSA note had the proposed state capital for Columbia South Carolina along with R. M. T. Hunter. The five dollar denomination, the T-60, had the Virginia state capital which was located in Richmond along with C. G. Memminger. All these Confederate States of America issues were dated April 6, 1863 and were issued from Richmond Virginia.
