Type 49 - Type 55 Confederate Money

These are all 5th series notes of the Confederate States of America which were authorized by the Act of October 13, 1862. This series was allowed to print up to 90 Million dollars in confederate money, but in actuality half again of this amount was issued. This is the first CSA series of confederate money that can be collected easily as a whole. Type 49 is the 100.00 Lucy Pickens bill, T-50 is the second of the Jefferson Davis fifty dollar notes. Type 51 featured the state capitol in Nashville Tennessee and Alexander Stephens, the vice president of the Confederacy in the amount of twenty dollars. Type 52 has the proposed state capital that was proposed for the state of South Carolina and also has R. M. T. Hunter and was the ten dollar denomination. T-53 is the five dollar bill which had the state capital of Virginia and C. G. Memminger, while the T-54 was the two dollar Judah P. Benjamin note. The last note of the series was the one dollar Clement C. Clay, who was a senator from the state of Alabama. All of these 5th series CSA notes were dated December 2, 1862 and issued from Richmond Virginia.
