Type 42 - Type 48 Confederate Money
This group of confederate money includes Type 42 and Type 43 which are the Judah P. Benjamin two dollar bills, one is plain and one has the green overprint. Types 44 and 45 are the Lucy Pickens one dollar notes with the T-44 being the plain note and the T-45 having the green overprint, which the CSA treasury would not pay for the extra cost. These four CSA bills are fairly common, with the green tint notes costing more than the plain ones. Type 46 is another R. M. T. Hunter bill and is fairly common, this confederate money bill was erroneously dated. Type 47 and Type 48 are the essay notes. These 2 bills are mysteries, some think they were originally produced by the CSA treasury either as regular circulating notes or experimental bills. Others think they are counterfeit notes that were produced during the Civil War. Either way they are extremely scarce.
