The First 4 Notes of the Confederacy were issued from the first capitol of the CSA at Montgomery Alabama. These are beyond the means of most average collectors, bringing upwards of 20,000.00 each. The first Richmond issues are beautiful green notes produced by the American Bank Note Company, this is where most collectors start, these are available yet at 4 figure prices. Types 8 and 9 both have portraits of George Washington and are the first reasonably priced currency of the Confederate States of America. Type 12 is the famous Manouvrier note which is very scarce in the upper quality condition, but can be had in the very lowest grades for a couple thousand dollars. Mostly, this category of confederate money is quite scarce and very expensive.
