Tennessee Obsolete Money Bank of East TN Five Dollars 1856 Fine

A piece of southern obsolete money from the pre war years. It is from the Bank of East Tennessee and drawn on the Chattanooga branch of said bank. The date is January 1, 1856 and the grade is fine, with a couple edge bumps at the bottom. On the right is a portrayal of Navigation reaching up to an angel for an apple, at the left is Liberty standing with sheild and an eagle at her feet. The back has a fancy reddish brown design with the bank title enclosed and a large 5 with two smaller medallions at each end both also with a 5 enclosed. The parent location of this bank was in Knoxville Tennessee.
