An advertising note from Eldridge Tucker that was printed on Type 68 confederate money. After the civil war a lot of enterprising entrepeneurs gathered up examples of confederate currency and would use them as advertisments. The used common examples of confederate money right after the civil war were worthless, but a lot of people still wanted the notes as souveneirs, so smart businessmen took advantage of this and used these bills for business ads. This example is a simple stamp on the back which said, "From Eldridge Tucker Chestnut & Jefferson Sts. Philada., Penna. These bills are a collecting field unto themselves. The picture shows the actual ad note that is for sale, in addition the back of this advertisment from Philadelphia Pennsylvania can be viewed in the photograph gallery.
