T40 $100 1862. This Confederate States of America note has three Interest Paid stamps on the back, one from Augusta, one from Montgomery and one from Jackson. It also has a fourth, circular stamp that was hand issued at Montgomery Alabama on November 20, 1862. These train notes have escalated in value the last few years, the stamps on the back are one reason and this one is loaded as it has 4 different stamps. The paper of this confederate money is brighter than what the picture suggests, all in all a very good example of type 40 civil war currency. This Civil War tender states Six Months After the Ratification of a Treaty of Peace between the Confederate States and the United States. The Confederate States of America will pay One Hundred Dollars to Bearer with Interest at two cents per day.
