| This is a rare confederate note and a very popular note to collect because of the attractiveness of the bill with the red overprints and there were just 58,860 produced. The T-31 has Agriculture, Commerce, Industry, Justice and Liberty seated in the center, Minerva, the Goddess of War, is on the left and a statue of George Washington is on the right. This note was made in Richmond, Virginia by the Southern Bank Note Company and is dated September 02, 1861. The Criswell subtype of this confederate bill,is the rarer CR245, which is the C plate number and the new PF number is T31, PF2. This piece grades Fine with expertly repaired cut out cancels at the bottom and some stains at the upper left corner, which are probably ink stains. There are estimated to be only around 201 to 499 of this particular type of note in exsistance today. The T-31s are practically non exsistant in the upper grades and if you could find one, the cost would be several thousand dollars. |
