Serial Number & Plate Letter
- The serial number is 5648 which is written twice by hand in brown ink, the plate letter of this confederate note is Y.

- fine/very fine. A very attractive note for the lower grade. It just shows a lot of honest wear with no major faults. This type 21 example would do nicely in any confederate money collection until you could afford a higher graded bill.
Back
- plain, this one shows more wear than the front

- Criswell number T-21 CR-145, the Fricke number is PF - 3, this means this is the variety with the dark green overprint and on plain unwatermarked paper.
Number Issued & Printers
- Keatinge and Ball of Columbia South Carolina issued only 164,248 of these type 21 examples of obsolete civil war currency.
Type of Bank Paper Used
- High quality bank note paper
Payable In
- Six months after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States and the United States of America the Confederate States of America will pay on demand twenty dollars to bearer. Fundable in 8 percent stock or bonds.
Notes
- A good opportunity to acquire a nice scarce type 21 without spending a lot of money. These bills are fairly scarce now in the upper quality grades and cost quite a bit of money. The picture shows the actual T-21 confederate money that is for sale, in addition the back of this obsolete civil war currency can be viewed in the photograph gallery.
