| This T-20 note is Criswell variety 143 from the 1st series, the new PF number is T20, PF14 and grades Very Fine. The back shows several folds, but looks bright, there is also a paper pull, as made. There is still some crispness left. The T-20 confederate note featured Industry between Cupid and a beehive, the beehive also symbolized industry, in the center vignette. At the right side was Hope leaning on an anchor, on the left was Alexander H. Stephens, the vice president of the confederacy during the Civil War. There were over 2.8 million of these bills produced, they are common in all grades except choice uncirculated. These were issued from Richmond, Virginia and are dated September 02, 1861. |
