T-17 Confederate Money Liberty & Ceres Ten Dollars 1861 Choice VF +

A beautiful circulated example of Type 17 Confederate Money which grades Choice Very Fine plus. This example has a full cut margin, which is very rare on type 17 currency, as most have poor cuts, some extending way into the note. This one has full margin all the way around, with no cuts past the black perimeter line at all. The printing on this note is as nice as you will see, with dark green overpints and the printings dark and crisp. This confederate money has a much nice appearance than the grade suggests, as most of the folding and etc are only visible from the back. A must for the Civil War Currency collector who values appearance over technical grading. The type 17 Confederate money features Liberty on the left, the center vignette is Ceres seated between Commerce and Navigation. This CSA currency was issued on September 2, 1861 and is a fairly scarce note as only 43,732 were originally issued. With a full margin, this is a very scarce note.
