Confederate Money type 13 featuring slaves loading cotton in the center vignette and a sailor in the left vignette. This note grades very fine, has good paper quality, just one very small pinhole. There are browing and age places on the note. In additon, this note has a fancy serial number of 8888. This would be a very desirable serial number on regular United States Issues of Currency. Criswell has this as variety CR 57, Fricke lists as T13 PF5 which means that a plate number follows the A. In this instance the A is follwed by a 3. You can view the actual back of this confederate money in the photo gallery. Issued by Hoyer and Ludwig during the Civil War on September 2nd 1861 from Richmond Virginia. There were 607,227 of these bills produced and this type of confederate money is common in all grades except choice white uncirculated notes.
