State of South Carolina Revenue Bond Scrip issued from Columbia on March 2, 1872. This is a nice uncirculated note, with excellent paper quality and centering. Criswell lists this as Variety 2 and Sheehen as Variety SC 6 and the note is common. South Carolina issued this series of notes to relieve the state of all liability of the Bonds of the Blue Ridge Railroad Company. The vignette at the left is a train. I have more than one of these 1872 South Carolina Revenue Bond Scrip notes, so the one in the picture might not be the one you receive, but all are the same uncirculated quality.
