A great pair of South Carolina Revenue Bond Scrip notes. This is a matching pair, both notes have the same serial number 333, which in itself is a plus and both examples are choice uncirculated with excellent paper quality, centering, and coloring. The 5.00 scrip features General Francis Marion's "sweet potatoe dinner" scene with General Thomas Sumter at the left and General William Moultrie at the right. The 10.00 scrip features Sergeants Jasper and Newton freeing captives, General Daniel Morgan is at the left and a young girl at the right. The backs of both these South Carolina Revenue bond scrips states the following, Issued under an act to relieve the State of South Carolina of all liability for its Guaranty of the Bonds of the Blue Ridge Railroad Company by providing for the securing and destruction of the same. March 2. 1872. The actual fronts and backs of the bond scrip for sale are pictured.
