South Carolina Railroad 5 dollar currency from Charleston and dated July 1st, 1873. This Railroad note has been professionally graded by PMG at Gem Uncirculated 65 with the qualifier of Exceptional Paper Quality. The serial number is 7187 which is printed in red. These notes were supposed to be for railroad fare, but were actually intended to try and circumvent the National Currency Laws that were passed after the Civil War. This old southern collectible note states that the South Carolina Railroad Company Fare Ticket Good for the fare of One passenger one hundred and twenty five miles, Charleston July 1st, 1873.
