South Carolina Confederate Money Charleston 10 cents XF

Your Price: $175.00
Item Number: SC Charleston 10 cents Remainder
Manufacturer: CSA - Confederacy Capital - Montgomery AL, Richmond VA

Confederate Money from the Corporation of Charleston South Carolina. This is a 10 cents note issued during the Civil War on April 19, 1861. Sheehen lists this South Carolina confederate money as Type 833 and is a contemporary bogus note, but as such still has value since it was issued during the Civil War period. This example was not numbered, so probably was never put into circulation, but it has 2 heavy folds which brings down the grade. The rarity scale on this Charleston Corporate note is R4, which means 26 to 50 are thought to still exsist. The center vignette is of a woman with a cow and at the left is a soldier holding the Confederate Flag. The back shows slaves picking cotton. There is also an issue of this Confederate Money that has a plain back. The pictures show the actual front and back of the South Carolina Confederate Money that is for sale.
