Pennsylvania Obsolete Currency North Western Bank 1.00 VG

A one dollar banknote from Warren Pennsylvania on the North Western Bank. This bill was issued on August 1, 1861 right at the beginning of the Civil War. The center vignette shows a herd of cattle in the foreground and a steam locomotive in the background. At ther ight is a basket full of produce with ears of corn laying around. This note circulated heavily during the Civil War and as such it will only grade very good with a couple tears on the edges.
