One of the beautiful red tinted notes made by the American Bank Note Company issued on June 5, 1860, during the pre war period when the American Bank Note Co was still operating in the southern states. This bill was from the Miners and Planters Bank from Murphy North Carolina in the amount of five dollars. The grade is fine, with wonderful still dark red overprints and even centering, however this obsolete note has several pinholes. The is a very popular southern obsolete because of the Indian vignette at the left. The serial number is 473. The picture shows the actual North Carolina confederate money that is for sale.
