North Carolina confederate money 1.00 from 1863 grading VF
This obsolete confederate money was issued by the state of North Carolina on January 1, 1863 and was payable at the treasury on or before the 1st of January 1866. The center vignette features Commerce and Prosperity, surrounded by farm goods and factories and ships in the background. Criswell labels this bill as CR-133, which means this is the one dollar type with double plate letters, these are somewhat rarer than the examples with only one plate letter. On this obsolete civil war currency, the plate letter D is on the left and B on the right. This confederate money grades very fine, has a much nicer appearance but there are some thin spots in the paper, which are most likely from when made, also a couple brown age spots. The picture shows the actual North Carolina confederate money that is for sale.
