This obsolete civil war currency was issued by the state of North Carolina at the beginning of the civil war on October 16, 1861 from Raleigh. Criswell lists this confederate money as CR-32F, which means the date is Oct 16th, 1861 and there is a small sailing ship in the center instead of the dog laying by the safe, there are numerous varieties of this type. The back has a red one dollar overprint, this one is still visible but very faded. The picture shows the actual North Carolina confederate money that is for sale.
