A 10 cents fractional currency note issued by C. V. B. Barse during the Civil War on November 1, 1862 from Olean New York. This is an attractive change note, the left end is solid green with TEN, also a big green 10 overprint in the center and also a couple more small vignettes. The serial number is 1372, which was written by hand in red ink. This obsolete money from the Civil War era states: C. V. B. Barse. Stowell, Chamberlain and Co Bankers, pay the bearer ten cents in current bank bills when checks to the amount of one dollar are presented. The note is signed by Mr. Barse at the bottom. The back of this currency is plain, but has a fancy set monogrammed initials.
