The Farmington Bank of Farmington New Hampshire opened up for business in the year 1854 and closed sometime during the 1860's, its fate is unknown. This two dollar obsolete note from said bank was professionally graded by PMG at gem uncirculated 65 with the excellent paper quality qualifier. Even though this is a remainder and not dated we know it is from around the 1860s period, so the residents of New Hampshire would have been using currency similar to this one during the Civil War years. The Farmington Bank was not a big issuer of currency and out of the issues they did have, a lot of them do not exist anymore. The back of this obsolete civil war currency has a nice green overprint with a white two in the center and the condition is choice as per grade. The picture shows the actual New Hampshire obsolete bank note that is for sale.
