Detroit, MI State Bank Currency $5.00. This crisp, colorful bill has a redish-orange tint. The State Bank of Michigan was in existence from 1859 until 1864 and became the First National Bank of Detroit. This bill is graded PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58 EPQ. This northern note has a etching of a steam boat in the top center with another etching of an anchor in the bottom left corner. The vintage note was printed with black and red ink and states The Bank of the State of Michigan will pay to bearer Five Dollars on demand Detroit. Secured by Pledge of Public Stocks. The left side of the note has a red box containing the Lyman's Protection, stating Bank Note on the right and One Dollar covers on third of the paper. Two Dollars, on half. Three Dollars, two thirds.
