Type of Confederate Money - A three dollar note issued by the Treasurer of Harris County Georgia during the Civil War era.
Nickname or Vignettes - The ever present vignette of the dog gaurding the safe at the top center, fance red medallions around the III and 3 and at the left a man in a fancy border.
Date & Place of Issue - October 21, 1862 from Harris County Georgia.
Serial Number & Plate Letter - 95 A, the ink has faded, but I believe that is the correct number from what I can see.
Condition - About fine, however there is a piece missing at the left border, numerous thin worn spots throughout the paper and the ink has faded on the issue date, the signatures and etc.
Back - plain and as per grade
Criswell & Fricke Numbers - not applicable
Number Issued & Printers - H. P. Hill and Co, Engravers and fancy job printers of Griffin Georgia.
Type of Bank Paper Used - very thin brown tissue paper, it is a wonder any of these survived.
Payable In - By order of the Justices of the Inferior court of Harris County, the Treasurer of Harris County Georgia will pay three dollars to bearer on or after the first day of January 1863.
