Confederate money issued by the central government

Obsolete Currency of the Civil War Era

There are 72 Types of Confederate Money as catalouged by Grover Criswell and 579 varieties within those 72 types. T-1 thru 4 were made at the first CSA Capitol of Montgomery, the rest of the confederate money types were made in Richmond. Pierre Fricke has written a new confederate money reference, I try to list his varieties along with the Criswell Types so people can collect by the type or variety. Collect what you like, but always try to buy the best possible condition note that you can afford, for instance the 1864 examples of confederate money are very common and cheap in the poorer conditions, but in the uncirculated grades they are not quite as plentiful. Buy Quality and not Quanity. But having said that, in some of the earlier scarce Confederate Money Types, there are no notes that exsist in the better grades, so on those you have to buy what you can find. If you would like to begin a fine collection of Confederate Money and would like help getting started, or need help adding good quality notes to your exsisting collection, please feel free to contact us for help in planning and adding to your confederate money collection. All orders that include confederate money are automatically insured, which is included in the base 5.75 postage.
