Arkansas confederate money 10.00 treasury warrant 1863 Fine
Arkansas confederate money 10.00 treasury warrant 1863 Fine
Type of Confederate Money - Ten dollar treasury warrant from the state of Arkansas.
Nickname or Vignettes - At the left is a worker with a basket of cotton, the small portrait in the center is Samuel Adams.
Date & Place of Issue - April 2, 1863
Serial Number & Plate Letter - 28381 D
Condition - Fine with nice crisp paper, however there is a triangular piece out of the top at the appropriation number, this was due to ink burn. The piece is still with the note and is hanging by the top border. This could easily be fixed with some archival tape. Also the whiteness at the bottom of the picture isn't nearly as obvious as the photo suggests. There is a lighter color at the bottom, but not as distracting as it looks.
Back - This example has Arkansas Treasury Warrant in fancy green print.
Criswell & Fricke Numbers - I believe this is Criswell number 56B, but there are numerous varieties of these Arkansas treasury warrants.
Number Issued & Printers - J. D. Butler of Little Rock Arkansas
Type of Bank Paper Used - A lot of different varieties and colors of paper were used with this complex series of warrants.
Payable In - The state of Arkansas will pay ten dollars to bearer to be paid in the order of their number.
Notes - The picture shows the actual state of Arkansas confederate money that is for sale.
