Alabama Confederate Money

Alabama seceded from the Union on January 11, 1861, the first Confederate capitol was located in the state at Montgomery. When Virginia seceded some months later, the CSA capitol was then moved to Richmond. There were 4 different Confederate Notes issued while the capitol was in Montgomery AL and these are known as the T-1 thru T-4 bills and are quite rare and desirable today among collectors. These notes will bring up to 40 to 50 thousand each in better conditions. This department lists Obsolete & Confederate Money from the state of Alabama as was issued during the civil war period. Alabama only had 2 different treasury issues during this period, some are common today, such as the fractional currency notes, the higher denominations are available, but not as readily as the change notes. Not much private scrip is available from the state during the Civil War period.
