These 66 VA tags are in unused excellent condition. The color is black with white letters, VIRGINIA is at the top along with the date of 1966. The Old Dominion had approximately 1,500,000 automobiles registered in the year 1966 to licensed drivers. I have more than one set of these antique 1966 Virginia License plates so the one you recieve might not be the ones in the picture, but all are the same unused excellent quality and all will have the 6 digits. I also have a few sets of 1966 Virginia license plates that are unused, but have slight rust along the edges or some minor faults. These are not junk, will grade around very good to very good plus and will still look good on your 1966 Mustang or muscle car of any kind. They are just not as good quality as the main listing. General Motors introduces front seat shoulder belts on the 1967 models, rear seat shoulder belts were available as a dealer installed option. Cadillac's Eldorado is introduced as a 67 model. Chevrolet also introduces the F-body Camaro as a 67 model, one of their most famous models. The US senate committee on Government operations investigates allegations of harrassment by Ralph Nader from General Motors. James M. Roche, GM President, apologizes for the incident. The pace car for the 1966 Indy 500 race was the Mercury Comet Cyclone GT driven by Benson Ford. The Chevrolet Chevelle becomes its own model as SS 396 with new standard 396 cid V-8 engine. The Dodge Charger was a new midsize fastback model with up to a 426 Hemi as an option. The Oldsmobile 442 had a triple carb option for the year 1966 only. Some of the new models introduced in 1966 were the Honda N360, Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto, Ford Bronco, Olds Toronado, Toyota Corolla, Dodge Charger, Volvo 144, Ferrari 365 P Speciale, Renault 16 and the Lamborghini Miura. Virginia does allow the use of license plates for year of manufacture use on antique and classic cars. Please check the YOM laws of Virginia before buying for this purpose as there are restrictions and the laws are different from state to state. |
