1943 Illinois License Plates

This set of license plates were issued by the Illinois DMV in 1943 and are in Very Good Plus condition. To save metal during World War II, Illinois made their license plates from sturdy fiberboard during the war and these still hold up great to this day. These tags are green with white lettering and have ILLINOIS 43 written at the top with the Department of Motor Vehicles issue number below. The state of Illinois issued both front and rear car tags, and the photo above shows one of the actual plates that we have in stock, though it may not be the one you receive since we have more than one in stock.
