West Virginia license plate from 1942 grading good plus. The color is black with yellow lettering, and W. Va. Exp 6-30-42 is at the bottom. The state of West Virginia issued their license plates in pairs during the World War II year of 1942. This was the last year for pairs for the state of West Virginia. These aren't the best quality of license plates, but will come in good for someone wanting a cheap 1942. All of these license plates were also used again in 1943 because of the metal shortage, metal tabs were issued to extend the license plates for another year. The picture shows the actual 1942 West Virginia license plate that is for sale.
