1918 Washington DC License Plate

A very rare early 1918 Washington DC license plate for a passenger automobile. This was the first year for a metal license plate in DC. The district had started issuing license plates in the year 1907 but from that time until this year all the tags were undated porcelain issues. This was the last year for single license plates in Washington DC also, after this year pairs were produced every year except for in WWII. The grade is good plus with no major faults, just a couple bumps and wear to the paints. The color is yellowish green color and the lettering is black, DC and 18 is at the far right. This license plate is almost good enough it could be used on your antique 1918 Ford Model T, or minor restoration could be called for, depending on how particular you are.
