1918 - 19 West Virginia License Plate

An antique 1918 - 1919 West Virginia license plate for a passenger automobile. This WV car tag will grade good plus and even though this is a lower grade, it is high quality for this year of WV license plates, as these are seldom found in the better conditions. The color is white with black letters with W. VA and 18 - 19 all located at the right end. West Virginia manufactured pairs of plates during this year, this sale is only for one tag. Some of the new car models introduced during these two years were the Isuzu, Oldsmobile Model 57, Citroen Type A, Essex, Bugatti and Bentely Motors Limited. In 1918 the first 3 color stop light with red, yellow and green was installed in Detroit Michigan, in this same year the Chevrolet company was bought by General Motors. In 1919 Walter Chrysler resigns as the head of Buick and Henry Ford buys out his partners so he can run Ford Motor Company as he sees fit. The Ford Model T was in its 10th year of production and still had several more good years left. The department of motor vehicle registration number of this antique license plate is 31910.
